£22,000 - £25,000 per annum | Knaresborough, North Yorkshire | Permanent, full-time

Our design team is expanding! We are looking for a keen and creative graduate/junior web designer with an interest in UX to work on an exciting range of client work and in-house products. A strong portfolio demonstrating a range of web design skills is essential. Experience within an agency setup is beneficial but not vital.

The role

As an ideal candidate you will have experience and knowledge of UI design alongside UI tools such as Sketch or Adobe XD. Using a creative and analytical approach, you are naturally able to solve problems from a user-centred mindset. Although experience in UX design isn’t essential, you will be required to learn the fundamentals through training and from your work peers. Therefore an interest in user experience is a must.

Working closely within our design and development team, you will have a keen eye for detail, be confident suggesting ideas and improvements and will respond positively to critique. You will also possess strong communication skills, both verbal and written, when liaising with colleagues and clients.

Your responsibilities will include the following:

  • Working with and advising clients during the ideation stage.
  • Producing user-flows and wireframes through to high-fidelity prototypes ready for testing.
  • Managing feedback and amendments where needed.
  • Building responsive websites using HTML5 and CSS or a preprocessing language of your choice.
  • Working with web developers to refine websites during the build process.

Essential skills include:

  • A thorough understanding of user interface design, core principles and design patterns.
  • Experience with UI design tools such as Sketch or Adobe XD.
  • Experience with prototyping tools such as Invision.

Desirable skills include:

  • A basic understanding of user experience fundamentals.
  • A basic understanding of web accessibility.
  • The ability to facilitate workshops with clients.
  • Good all round knowledge of the Adobe Creative suite.
  • A basic understanding of Javascript.

  • Flexible working hours (with the opportunity to work from home once a week)
  • Training
  • Conferences
  • Annual reviews
  • Casual dress code
  • A weekly fruit box, tea and coffee.
